ToBRFV symptoms – know the signs*

Early detection can help limit the spread of the ToBRFV virus. Symptoms develop 12-18 days after infection; even mild symptoms can contain high levels of ToBRFV.

Regular visual inspection

Look for smaller plants lacking growth and those showing thinner heads or yellowing at the top. These are the first signs of an infection.

Take samples regularly

(at least every two weeks):

  • Take leaf samples and/or sample drain water for ToBRFV.
  • When a test is positive, directly increase hygiene protocols.
