Immersive event welcomed growers and industry stakeholders for a firsthand look at expertise, insights and technologies supporting vegetable production.
WOODLAND, Calif. (August 19, 2026) — Seminis® Vegetable Seeds, part of Bayer's Crop Science division, brought together growers and industry stakeholders from across the United States, Mexico, South America and Australia/New Zealand to its Research & Development site in Woodland, CA for an in-depth experience highlighting the breadth of expertise, research and collaboration that helps growers navigate the evolving demands of vegetable production.
The event connected attendees directly with the people and processes behind the company’s vegetable seed business, including breeders, pathology experts, cell biology teams, quality specialists and other technical experts. Attendees gained a firsthand look at the extensive work that goes into developing and supporting vegetable varieties before they reach growers’ fields through conversations, demonstrations and a behind-the-scenes tour of the Woodland facility.
Throughout the day, attendees walked commercial and developmental field trials alongside Seminis breeders, observed breeding and research activities and explored emerging agricultural technologies. Market insight discussions provided another perspective on the challenges and opportunities shaping the industry, including consumer trends, market dynamics and evolving grower needs.
The experience also created opportunities for growers, industry stakeholders and Seminis teams to exchange perspectives on production challenges, market insights and future opportunities across vegetable production, reinforcing the company’s commitment to listening to growers and developing solutions that deliver meaningful value in the field.
Attendees also explored technologies from strategic partners including CERES, spotlighting aerial field applications; Ecorobotix, demonstrating AI precision weed spray application solutions; Glean, highlighting field data collection tools; Sentek, presenting advances in soil moisture monitoring; and Stout AI, sharing automation technology designed to support labor-intensive field operations.
