Agronomic Tips
- // Planting rate: starting density 1,25-1,50 stems/m² for umbrella crop system // Paxtor forms an average of 1 more leaf on the stem than its main competitors. Do not overload the main stem with too many fruits to obtain a higher average fruit weight. This will result in a higher % of >400-gram fruits. // Keep the crop open enough by maintaining a sufficient high 24-hour temperature and if needed by picking some leaves. This may help with a generative balance and high qualitative production potential. // Avoid fruit condensation by heating up the glasshouse in time. Timely screening is recommended to minimize the risk of sunburn and/or cold stripes. In March/April screening from 450 Watts is advised. // Avoid a too low humidity deficit to prevent and reduce disease pressure.

Summary of Trial Feedback
A curated summary of all trial feedback for this variety.
Paxtor confirmed in production (second year of trialing). Good shaped fruits, but needs to be kept open to secure a good fruit color. Probably a new start for De Ruiter. Paxtor's quality is fine. The variety is growing a little more hoos than Springfield. Paxtor needs more labor input to keep the plant open, otherwise it becomes a too full crop with poor fruit color. Paxtor seems more susceptible to mycos compared with main variety. Paxtor has nice shaped fruits and good fruit weight. (grower with only 2 long cucumber crops and very vegetative steering). Paxtor shows that De Ruiter is finally improving its pipeline in terms of fruit quality. Our growers are giving this variety a 9/10. (Belgian grower cooperative)
