'Titanium' Bringing Something New To Broccoli Production In The UK

January 2016 marked the launch of our new broccoli ‘Titanium’ to the UK market. This variety has been very well received in trials in the 2014 and 2015 seasons and appeared as the focal point in our 2015 UK Brassica Open Days in October. From our trials ‘Titanium’ benefits from increased head weight, improved field holding and greater harvest uniformity while also benefitting from being easier to harvest than our current broccoli portfolio. The other potential benefit of the variety is an improved shelf life over that which is currently achieved from our commercial range. We hope that this trait can help to better manage peaks and troughs in production during the UK season.
