The De Ruiter Experience Center proudly hosted around 300 visitors during Greentech Week, showcasing its commitment to innovation and excellence in agriculture. Attendees from more than 24 Countries across the globe, including Canada, South Korea, Australia, and Mexico, took advantage of this unique opportunity to explore the center and its cutting-edge technologies expressing enthusiasm about the advanced innovation and diverse crop varieties.

The primary focus of interest has been drawn to the innovative Tomato genetic advancements providing multi-stacked virus-resistant genes for more durable protection against ToBRFV mutations. Bayer brought this multi-stacked resistance into every major glasshouse tomato segment—2025 commercial launches are planned for Large Truss, Medium Truss, and Beef. The new products are the outcome of converting successful hybrids with Multiple Resistance or brand-new hybrids and have been evaluated for agronomic performance next to ToBRFV resistance. During their visits, growers had the opportunity to see and taste commercial and pre commercial varieties with this unique resistance and appreciated their flavor and agronomic performances.
A highlight of the week has been the visit from a delegation of 57 enthusiastic representatives from the Middle East. Their experience at the center has been filled with insights and discoveries about the advanced techniques and varieties being researched and developed.
The Managing Director of Food and Agriculture from the Ministry of Saudi Arabia emphasized their need to implement best practices in Saudi Arabia to contrast the water scarcity, finding in our varieties an ideal solution for varieties that are flavorful, efficient, and cost-effective.
Not only tomatoes and cucumbers, during their visits, growers could taste the delicious strawberry MALLING CENTENARY, De Ruiter best selling variety which once again demonstrated its exceptional taste and quality. Strawberry growers should also stay tuned, as Bayer announced the upcoming introduction of a new variety in the high Chill Junebearer segment coming next season, designed to complement Malling Centenary.
In addition to the above events, the center hosted a dinner for 50 growers coming from Balkans region and France, further strengthening international relationships and fostering collaboration in the agricultural sector.
The De Ruiter Experience Center remains dedicated to advancing agricultural practices and welcomes future opportunities to share its innovations with partners worldwide.
